Dear Parents and Guardians,

Yesterday morning, on January 15, a piece of scaffolding fell from the scaffolding installed on the south side of the building.  To ensure student safety, students were kept inside while construction workers visually inspected the scaffolding to ensure that it was safe.  As a further precaution, Kindergarten students were then moved to classrooms inside the main building while further inspections were being made.  Once we received confirmation that the site was safe, students returned to their regular classrooms and routines.

A student was injured due to the falling scaffolding. She received medical attention and is at home resting.  Her family has let me know that she will be back to school soon.

This morning, I met with classes to apprise students of what happened, and to let them know that the student will be back to school shortly. I let the students know that the scaffolding was inspected yesterday and that the site is safe.   Students know that if they  have concerns, they can speak with their teacher or with me.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Matthew and Caitland
